{"id":15262,"date":"2022-04-20T16:17:52","date_gmt":"2022-04-20T14:17:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ildammuso.com\/pantelleria\/punta-spadillo\/"},"modified":"2022-09-07T14:35:58","modified_gmt":"2022-09-07T12:35:58","slug":"punta-spadillo","status":"publish","type":"pantelleria","link":"https:\/\/www.ildammuso.com\/en\/pantelleria\/punta-spadillo\/","title":{"rendered":"Punta Spadillo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>\u201c(The lighthouse) Towered, naked and straight, sparkling, white and black and you could see already the waves breaking in white splinters like glass fragments on the rocks\u201d \u2013\u00a0<em>To the lighthouse, Virginia Woolf<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Punta Spadillo<\/strong> in local dialect \u201cPunta Spadillu\u201d the name probably comes from the Spanish \u201cespadillo\u201d, a certain type of oar, in which the imagination of the sailors will have depicted this point of the coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lighthouse stands on its top, as a bulwark on the lava flow of <strong>Khagiar<\/strong> but also a warning to mariners of cliffs overlooking the sea. Nearby there is a building housing the Museum of Volcanology and an easy path reaches <strong>the lovely pond ripples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201c(The
